Getting There
Routes from Qld
Curlew Retreat can be reached via 3 routes from Qld, all of which can be comfortably travelled in a normal car.
From Warwick, via Cullendore Road
1. Drive east on Killarney Warwick Road.
2. Turn right onto Cullendore Road.
3. Turn right on Mt Lindesay Road
4. Turn right onto Wylie Creek Road and drive west for 4 km.
This route has 4 km of unsealed road. It is the quickest route from Brisbane.
From Killarney, via Mount Lindesay Road
1. From Killarney drive south on Main Road.
2. At Legume, continue south on Mount Lindesay Road and drive south.
3. Turn right onto Wylie Creek Road and drive west. Curlew Retreat is 4 km along.
This route has 4 km of unsealed road. This is the shortest route from Brisbane, being 30 minutes shorter than the route through Stanthorpe.
From the New England Highway
1. Drive to Thulimbah. Turn left at the Big Apple onto Maryland Road. Drive 3 km east.
2. Turn left onto Wylie Creek Road and drive east for 12 km.
This route has 15 km of unsealed road.
From Stanthorpe, via Mount Lindesay Road
1. Drive east on Amosfield Road.
2. Turn left onto Mt Lindesay Road and drive north.
3. Turn left onto Wylie Creek Road and drive west for 4 km.
This route has 4 km of unsealed road. It follows a very scenic route.
The most scenic route from Brisbane
A wonderfully scenic and leisurely way to travel to Curlew Retreat from Brisbane is via Boonah and Queen Mary Falls.
This is a stunning drive with amazing views. Stop for lunch at Carr’s Lookout or the nearby Spring Creek Cafe.
From Queen Mary Falls, travel to Killarney. From there follow the “From Killarney” driving instructions to Curlew.

399 Wylie Creek Road Maryland NSW 4377.
It is 2 hours, 30 minutes from Brisbane, on the Granite Belt. It lies 20 minutes North East of Stanthorpe and 10 minutes east of Thulimbah.
To help find us, there are direction signs placed at the major junctions of Wylie Creek Road.

Mobile Phone & Internet Connectivity At Curlew Retreat
Curlew Retreat is in a remote and rugged area. We often get asked about Internet and phone access by guests.
Telstra 4G mobile phone service with 4 bars is available within the chalet, using a Telstra Cel-Fi Go booster. You can make and receive calls and download at speeds of 4 - 8Mbps although weather conditions may reduce this at times.
We also have WiFi with medium-speed (512Kbps) Internet access for those, not on Telstra or needing a WiFi connection.
